Four People Killed In Morning Crash On The N2 Near Richards Bay

Four people have been killed in a crash on the N2 in KwaMbonambi in Northern KwaZulu-Natal.

The KwaZulu Private Ambulance (KZPA) responded to the scene following reports of a collision.
KZPA prophet Craig Botha said when exigency services arrived, they plant that two vehicles had been involved in the crash.

He said that paramedics snappily assessed the scene and plant that one case had sustained critical injuries and was trapped in the vehicle and another case had sustained serious injuries.

Botha said the cases were untangled from the auto using specialised deliverance outfit, treated and stabilised on the scene before being transported to the sanitarium for farther treatment.

“Sadly four occupants had sustained fatal injuries and succumbed to their injuries before emergency services arrived,” Botha said.

He added that the cause of the collision was unknown but the authorities were probing.

Police were approached for comment but hadn’t responded by the time of publication. Their comment will be added once entered.

Stage 6 Load Shedding To Start At 2pm And Run Until Midnight

Eskom Announces Stage 2 Load Shedding From 2pm Today

Eskom, South Africa power and utility company has announced that stage 6 of load shedding will be implemented from 2pm and will run unril midnight on Thursday.

“Due to the continued unlawful strike Stage 6 loadshedding will be implemented at 2pm until midnight. Stage 6 will again be implemented from 5am until midnight on Friday,” Eskom said on Twitter.

Meanwhile, stage 4 of the load shedding will also be implemented from midnight on Friday until 5pm.

According to the power and utility company, it said stage 6 load shedding would be implemented on Friday, from 5am until midnight and a continuous “minimum” of stage 4 load shedding would operate continuously over the weekend.

Eskom said it was difficult to conduct routine maintenance as many employees were absent, while some employees were intimidated during the recent protest that ensued over the stalled wage negotiations.

Also, 3 161 megawatts are schedule for maintenance while a further 17 467MW was unavailable due to breakdowns as revealed by Eskom.

“Due to the unlawful and unprotected strike which has caused widespread disruption to Eskom’s power plant, Eskom is still unavailable to return some generators to service.

“Eskom is compelled to take this unprecedented step to conserve emergency generation capacity to safeguard the power system. There remains a risk that the stage of load shedding may have to change at any time depending on the state of the plant,” Eskom said.

Meanwhile, the protest reportedly began on June 22 and has escalated since then.

“We will be meeting with Eskom in the CBF to respond to the wage proposal,” Numsa said.

Durban Policeman Kills Son, Mistaking Him For An Intruder

News gathered by Zulunews.co.za indicates that A Durban police officer has allegedly shot and killed his 10-year-old son.

The incident happened on Sunday morning, as IOL reports that policeman mistakenly took his son an intruder.

According to IOL report, the incident occurred took place at around 10am on Queen Elizabeth Avenue in Manor Gardens.

It is alleged the man had been asleep when he heard his son screaming for help.

He ran downstairs and saw an unknown person at the window.

The policeman ran back for his state-issued firearm and fired shots through the window from inside the house.

He did not know that his son was outside.

The son sustained bullet wounds to his chest and foot.

When the policeman noticed it was his son that was shot, he was assisted by neighbours who rushed them to a hospital nearby.

However, the son died in hospital.

Brigadier Jay Naicker said a case of murder was being investigated.

“Mayville police were called to a house in Manor Gardens where a 10-year-old was shot. He was rushed to hospital and was declared dead on arrival.”

The Independent Police Investigative Directorate have been approached for comment.

Kelly Khumalo Rubbishes Allegations That She Shot And Killed Senzo Meyiwa

South African musician and socialite, Kelly Khumalo has rubbished allegations that she mistakenly shot and killed her former boyfriend and soccer player, Senzo Robert Meyiwa.

In a statement submitted by defence advocate Malesela Teffo has fingered Khumalo in October 2014 murder of the father of her child.

According to Teffo, an eyewitness would testify to the High Court in Pretoria that the musician and socialite accidentally shot and killed Senzo R. Meyiwa in October 2014.

Moonsamy, the lawyer to the accused (Kelly Khumalo) rebutted the claims made by Teffo, while cross-examining veteran police forensic expert Sergeant Thabo Mosia, amount to intimidation and character assassination.

“We are absolutely making formal submissions, this (is) intimidation that has been ongoing against myself and my client and (it is also) public persecution. We need to know which eyewitness is that?” Moonsamy told broadcaster Newzroom Afrika in an interview.

“We know that criminal law is based on evidence that must be tested. The way we understand what is unfolding in court, the biggest curiosity that posts itself is the intimidation of the defence for the accused, and how that then results in circumstances where we cannot be represented.”

The singer’s attorney, Magdalene Moonsamy stressed that her client, Khumalo has been “prejudiced publicly”.

“We cannot wait to hear that eyewitness evidence. We want it to be known that this defamation, this borderline defamatory, character assassination not only of my client but myself by advocate Teffo which has been brought to the attention of the court,” Moonsamy said.

Moonsamy also said the five accused men on trial have not been paraded before the people who were in the house with Meyiwa on 26 October 2014, when the footballer was gunned down.

The former Bafana Bafana goalkeeper was mudered while visiting his then girlfriend, the mother of his child.

Eskom Implements Stage 2 Load Shedding After Two Generation Units Break Down

Eskom has said due to breakdown of generation unit,the stage of load shedding will be implemented on Monday evening.

“Eskom regrets to inform the public that, due to the breakdown of a generation unit each at Majuba and Medupi power stations today, Stage 2 load shedding will be implemented from 5pm until 10pm tonight,” it said.

“Three generation units are expected to return to service by this evening, which will ramp up through the night.

“Eskom will continue to closely monitor the system, adjust, and communicate any changes as may be necessary,” said Eskom.

Eskom said it currently has 2 246MW on planned maintenance, while another 15 847MW of capacity was unavailable due to breakdowns.

“Eskom cautions the public that, as the shortage of generation capacity persists, the system will continue to be constrained – with an elevated risk of load shedding over the coming weeks,” said Eskom.

Killer Of 'Matwetwe' Actor Sibusiso Khwinana Sentenced To Life Imprisonment

Tanzanian public, Julies Lucas, the man who killed Matwetwe actor, Sibusiso Khwinana, was doomed to life imprisonment by the Pretoria High Court on Friday.

Lucas, 37, was condemned of murder and thievery in February after the court accepted the substantiation of three eye substantiations that he was the man who had picked Khwinana outside the movie theatre complex that night and burgled him of his cellphone.

He was also doomed to 15 times for thievery with aggravating circumstances and eight times for breaching the Immigration Act, after it was plant that he was in South Africa immorally.

In April, twinkles before sentencing proceedings were due to start, Lucas fired his counsel, saying he wasn’t happy with his service.

Lucas, who was at length told that this could delay the finalization of his trial by a time, was adamant as he wanted to “ satisfy his heart.” He said he was incorrectly condemned as he’s not the killer.

Still, his detention tactics failed to work after Judge Portia Phahlane explained to him that as he can not pay for his own counsel, he wasn’t in a position to pick and choose who he wanted to represent him and was given until May 3 to put in writing exactly what his grouch is with the state appointed counsel.

When the day came, Lucas changed his mind and progressed with the same attorney.

Matwetwe actor Sibusiso Khwinana stabbed to death

During sentencing, Phahlane said Lucas burgled South Africa of a true gift when he boggled Khwinana over a cellphone.
Phahlane also ordered that after serving his judgment, Lucas should be deported to his country of origin.

Khwinana, 25, was picked in March 2019 during a thievery outside Sterland Mall in Arcadia, Pretoria, where he’d attended the webbing of’Matwetwe’, the locally- produced movie he starred in.

According to the police, Khwinana and a friend were on the corner of Pretorius Street and Steve Biko Road when Lucas accosted him and demanded his cellphone.

The actor was picked with a sharp object in the upper body as he grappled for his cellphone, and was certified dead on the scene.
