ABOUT THE BURSARY PROGRAM
We invite all matric (grade 12) and university students to apply for the Scatec bursary program.
This is an all-inclusive bursary offered to talented individuals who are planning to study full-time or currently studying full-time towards an undergraduate / postgraduate degree in selected Engineering qualifications. To be considered, you must be a South African citizen, currently registered or qualifying for possible registration at an approved South-African University the following year.
Applications may be submitted for degrees (no diplomas) in one of the following fields of study:
- Electrical Engineering (B.Eng)
- Electronic Engineering (B.Eng)
- Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng)

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS FOR THE SCATEC BURSARY

Applicants must satisfy the following minimum entry criteria before applying (please note that failure to satisfy all the requirements will lead to your application not being considered):
- You must be a South African citizen
- You must have completed Matric OR must be currently in Matric
- You must be studying or intend on studying full-time within one of the aforementioned fields of study
- You must be studying or intend on studying at a university that is recognised or accredited by the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA)
- Matric students: you must have achieved a minimum overall average of 70% AND a pass rate for Mathematics and Physical Science
- 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students: end of year results and full academic transcript. Minimum overall average of 50%
- Postgraduate students: succesful completion of undergraduate studies
- Preference will be given to students from previously disadvantaged designated groups within South Africa

ABOUT THE COMPANY – BLIND SA
Blind SA, originally known as the South African Blind Worker’s Organisation, was formed in 1946, with the purpose of helping the blind find meaningful careers. While this is still one of the organisations main goals, Blind SA has since gone on to placing blind people in jobs, establishing Braille Services, awarding bursaries, creating a skills development service, successfully lobbying and pursuing matters that concerns the blind.
ABOUT THE BLIND SA BURSARY PROGRAMME – FIELDS COVERED
Blind SA is inviting blind and partially sighted students to apply for bursary funding. Bursaries are awarded twice each year, for full-time and part-time studies at tertiary institutions, to enable visually disabled students the same opportunities as their sighted peers.
Candidates will be selected based on 2 main criteria: merit and availability of funding.
Blind SA bursaries are made possible by donors who sponsor students at tertiary level around South Africa, from first year through to a postgraduate Masters degree.

MORE ABOUT THE BLIND SA BURSARY PROGRAMME – COVERAGE VALUE
Bursaries will be awarded to the value of R8 000 for full-time studies and R4 000 for part-time studies. Aside from financial aid, the bursary will also assist with special equipment, study material and transport.

Schauenburg Education Trust Bursary 2022 – 2023

Schauenburg Education Trust Bursaries
The Schauenburg Education trust is for students who are opting for a rare qualification. It makes sure that the professionals originating from these qualifications are produced to work within South Africa in the future.
The bursary will be provided in the second, third and fourth year of the degree in the following fields (at specified universities):
- Electric and Electronic engineering.
- Business Management.
- Business Administration.
The bursary provides the following benefits:
- Cost of tuition and registration.
- Examination fees.
- Cost of accommodation at the university.
All three amounts mentioned above will be paid directly to the university.
- Allowance for textbooks and study materials.
- Living allowance.
The amount for all the payments will be finalized by the trustees.
Bursaries are awarded according to merit, need and other requirements as defined by the Trust. The Trust will identify the accepted universities for the bursary. Students who are already a recipient of other bursaries from other providers will not be accepted. Bursaries can be terminated and withdrawn at any time should the bursary holder does not meet the conditions of the bursary agreement.
About Schauenburg Education Trust
Schauenburg (Pty) Ltd trading as Schauenburg Systems is an Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for mine safety. The company offers system integrator services, multi-disciplinary services and program management methodologies to ensure an efficient solution for mine safety management.
On January 1 2015, Schauenburg Systems restructured its business and established the Schauenburg Education Trust. Schauenburg then achieved the Mining Charter requirement of a 25.1% black ownership. The Schauenburg Education Trust was also created to contribute to the socio-economic transformation of South Africa. The trust provides bursaries to young black students to help them further their studies in the fields of Economics, Electronics and Engineering.
Schauenburg Systems together with the Schauenburg Education Trust supports corporate social responsibility and as such helps develop the previously disadvantaged individuals and communities through education and training.
Bursary Requirements and Eligibility
Candidates must check the eligibility criteria before applying for the scholarship. There should not be any exception or the allocation will be rejected.

- The candidate must be studying at any of the following universities:

- The candidates must be in their first, second or third year of the degree at any of the courses mentioned above in the specified universities.
- The candidates must show excellent academic progress during their degree and must have passed all the subjects while at university.
- The candidate should not be receiving funds from any other bursary.
