Job Description

-As the Security Supervisor, your role will be to plan, lead, organize and control the relevant Security activities of Venetia Mine according to Security practices to maximize Safety, Environmental, Health and Security risks and achieve the set targets.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Co-ordinates and implements security operational plan
  • Continually assesses security and production operational practices
  • Manages subordinates’ key result areas by setting and monitoring performance standards
  • Conducts on-going Security vulnerability and risk assessments and uses the results to minimise loss
  • Develops and maintains internal and external networks and contacts
  • Investigates general crime offences
  • Works closely with the Security Operational Manager at the operation in building a strong security culture and positive social contract with employees in high risk areas

Qualifications
-Formal qualifications:

  • Grade 12 / Matric
  • Relevant Tertiary Qualification in Security Management, Risk Management or recognized qualification at NQF level 7 (Degree or National Higher Diploma)
  • Be registered with PSIRA Grade “A”


Additional requirements:

  • Code 08 Drivers License
  • Must be prepared to work shifts
  • Successful completion of screening & competency (SHL) assessments as well as required integrity testing
  • Candidates will be required to undergo a Medical Examination of fitness as per the inherent requirements of the position
  • Your consideration for employment is subject to your SAPS Criminal Record verification and qualifications verification

Role-specific knowledge:

  • Minimum of 3-8 years’ experience in the security discipline with particular experience at supervisory level
  • Must have been involved with an investigation or post incident review following a major incident and been held accountable for implementation of recommendations
  • Practical experience within the security function at mining operations would be advantageous
  • Thorough knowledge of vulnerability and risk assessment procedures
  • Knowledge and application of industry legislation and Compliance to local regulatory bodies

Purpose of the Job:

To monitor compliance with insurance legislation to ensure sound and efficient long-term and short-term insurance industry. The person appointed to this position will report to the Manager.

Key Performance Areas:

  • Liaise with the public and other stakeholders when receiving complaints or enquiries.
  • Investigate complaints and enquires within the required departmental turnaround times.
  • Assist the department in the investigation of unregistered insurance business.
  • Participate in on-site visits to long and short term, insurers to establish compliance with insurance legislation; best practice and market conduct related issues.
  • Manage relationships with long- and short-term insurers assigned in the portfolio;
  • Perform administrative and other activities relating to the regulatory framework as may be required; and
  • Assist the department with projects that the department is working on.

Candidates must demonstrate the following skills and attributes: A high level of judgement and a confident and decisive approach; problem analysis, information gathering, communication skills, good interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence, customer relations and persuasiveness skills and must be computer literate.
