We currently have a Cleaning Manager position available. The role will oversee the daily workings of the organisation operations, mainly one sites. Responsible to maintain a high-quality standard of organisations deliverables in line with site specific SLA’s. Responsible to manage client relations, perform cleaning and equipment inspections. Duties & Responsibilities
• Take full responsibility and management of your site,
• Act with utmost urgency when attending to any client request and do so pro-actively,
• Best allocate the resources of the contract to achieve maximum cleaning output. Where the SLA stipulates resource requirements, these must be adhered to,
• Output based contracts must be managed efficiently,
• Together with HR pro-actively manage a pool of trained relief staff members to prevent any service delivery disruptions,
• Ensure work schedules/job cards are in place for each position and relevant to site,
• Ensure consistently high service standards are maintained for all services in scope with regular inspections,
• Unit closures to receive proper service until the last trading day and all processes relating to staff, equipment, billing and costs are attended to within the month of closing,
• Contract retention through maintaining excellent service standards, identifying and mitigating the risk of cancellation and building strong client relationships with key client contacts,
• Ensure that staff are correctly and smartly dressed displaying a name badge. Highlight to sites the importance of upholding the company image at all times,
• Ensure that cleaning methodology are strictly adhered to in line with company policies, quality programmes and legislation,
• Managing company assets by performing monthly spot checks on high value items. When checking assets ensure that equipment is kept in a good condition and repaired and serviced when required,
• Effective use and updating of electronic application/tools issued by the company,
• Ensure that training is scheduled for all staff in your portfolio to equip and empower them to perform their duties. This includes regular on job training sessions performed by you,
• The upkeep of unit files kept at unit level and notice boards where applicable as set out in TCS Policy and Procedure file. Communication:
• Regular client meetings with clients signing off unit visit checklist (manual or electronic),
• Responding to clients and management request timeously and providing necessary action required,
• Ensure monthly completion of client specific records in sites where this is required. This may include hygiene consumption reports, cleaning inspection and walk about reports, reports on training performed, reports on client maintenance matters that were reported by cleaning management and/or completion of client monthly surveys,
• Responsible to effectively communicate and filter company information to staff,
• Responsible to regularly keep your line management informed of pertinent issues relating to your contracts. Labour Management:
• Work with HR to allocate staff to sites according to policies and procedure,
• Complete time sheets and submit to the administration department as per the deadlines,
• Must manage daily human resources and industrial relations issues and abide by the company disciplinary code and ensure that this is consistently applied,
• The Cleaning Manager is required to participate in CCMA cases and union meetings if required,
• To hold performance appraisals with all cleaning staff reporting to you, identify areas for development and training needs,
• Ensure that all staff have signed and are abiding by the Tsebo House rules. Health and Safety:
• Ensure that all OHS act (Occupational Health and Safety) requirements are adhered to for site specific requirements in line with company policies, quality programmes and legislation. Unit Finances:
• Actively manage unit leave liability and leave plans according to company policies and targets,
• Continually identify potential of additional business within existing contracts and One off cleaning opportunities,
• Ensure all rechargeable and overtime work is authorized and billed to client timeously and within the month,
• Ensure debtors collection is in line with contractual agreements,
• Capital expenditure and equipment repairs should be approved by line manager prior to any orders being placed,
• Chemical and consumables are ordered in line with a monthly pre-determined budget. General:
• To maintain a high standard of morale and motivation through good communication skills, To attend meetings, training sessions and conferences when required,
• To implement and manage initiatives and objectives as set out from time to time by our clients and/or Tsebo Management and to support functions such as Quality (Star Grading), Procurement, Training or HR,
• The Cleaning Manager is to ensure that our TCS brand is protected and represent it professionally at all times,
• Ensure that statutory/legal requirements are strictly adhered to,
• To keep abreast of changes in all company policies and procedures,
• May be required to assist with any other duties that may be outside scope of responsibility.

Qualifications
• Minimum Matric;
• Relevant operations and people management experience,
• Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar environment on middle management level,
• Experience in managing or overseeing large compliments of people,
• Understand cleaning principles and knowledge of company policies and procedures,
• Good understanding of scheduling of staffing and assign cleaning tasks productively to each position to achieve an output standard according to site specific SLA’s,

Trevor Noah Makes History as First African and Black Emmy Winner in Outstanding Talk Series Category
South African comedian Trevor Noah has etched his name in the annals of television history by securing an Emmy award in the outstanding talk series category for his renowned show, The Daily Show.
This victory not only marks Noah’s triumph but also positions him as the first African and first black person to clinch an Emmy in the outstanding talk series category since its inception in 2015.
In a heartfelt response to the win on Monday night, Noah expressed his excitement, stating, “It’s amazing that I get to be a part of this journey.
It feels like being part of a winning football team.” This achievement comes after Noah’s sixth nomination in the category, and it holds special significance as it was earned in his final season hosting The Daily Show.
The comedian had been nominated five times before, but the sixth nomination proved to be the charm, culminating in this historic victory.
Noah, who announced his departure from The Daily Show in September 2022 after seven years as host, leaves behind a legacy of wit and social commentary.
The search for his replacement is currently ongoing, and fans are eager to see who will step into the shoes of the acclaimed host.
This is not Noah’s first brush with Emmy success; he previously earned an Emmy award in 2017 for an Outstanding Short Form Variety Series, showcasing his versatility in the television landscape.

The International Court of Justice (ICJ) witnessed a heated legal confrontation as Israel’s legal team took the stand to counter South Africa’s allegations of genocide in The Hague on Friday.
Tal Becker, the Legal Adviser in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, presented a robust defense, emphasizing that Israel was engaged in a defensive war against terrorist groups and had not initiated the conflict.
South Africa had urged an immediate halt to Israeli military operations, accusing Israel of mass killings, harm to Palestinians, and explicit genocidal intent by political leaders.
The case, addressing violations of the Genocide Convention, presented evidence of alleged genocidal acts by Israel. However, Becker argued that South Africa’s request to suspend Israel’s military operations was an attempt to deny the country its obligation to defend its citizens.
Becker stated, “The civilians suffering in this war, like all wars, is tragic and heartbreaking.” He contended that Israel’s military actions were directed at defending itself against groups such as Hamas and Palestinian Jihad. The legal adviser described the October 7, 2023 attack as a “wholesale massacre, mutilation, rape, and abduction” of many Israeli citizens.
Israel’s legal team accused South Africa of presenting a distorted factual and legal picture, alleging that the entirety of South Africa’s case was based on a “deliberately curated, decontextualized, and manipulative description of the reality of current hostilities.”
Becker asserted that Israel had the “inherent right” to take all legitimate measures to defend its citizens and secure the release of hostages taken in the October 7 attack.
He criticized South Africa, stating, “South Africa is not offering the court a lens, it is offering a blindfold.”
The legal battle at the ICJ continues, with both sides presenting their arguments in a case that could have far-reaching implications for how conflicts involving accusations of genocide are adjudicated on the international stage.
Trevor Noah’s show The Daily Show received nominations for seven Emmy Awards, and the comedian can’t keep calm.
The popular show was nominated for the Outstanding Variety Series, Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series, Outstanding Picture Editing For Variety Programming and Outstanding Technical Direction, Camerawork, and Video Control.
According to Deadline, The Daily Show has received the most Emmy nominations since the South African star became host in 2015.
Reacting to the record nominations, Trevor headed to his social media pages to thank The Daily Show team and the Emmy Awards for the recognition. He wrote:

Tracey Lange Kfm 94.5, radio host is taking her knitting passion to the next level and is inviting her friends to join in for Mandela Day.
Lange hosts the weekday mid-morning show. A selected number of listeners and fans will be able to join a live, interactive, 67-minute online knit along with Lange and celebrity friends on July 18 at 12.30pm.
The virtual event will be a fun and engaging session while guests knit items to be distributed to charities in need of warm winter items.
#GeknitDitMetTraceyLange started in 2020 when Lange took up knitting during lockdown.
She initially started knitting as a way to stay occupied during lockdown, but her hobby soon grew into a larger initiative as her listeners, fans, and followers rallied behind her call to knit for charity.
“A project that started as a way to keep my hands busy and out of the fridge during lockdown has now grown into something much bigger than I could’ve imagined,” said Lange.
“I nearly forgot about the project this year, but the listeners of Kfm 94.5 commented daily from March, asking when they can start knitting to help those in need, proving again just how big the hearts of South Africans are. That the need to help and make the lives of others just a little better is in everyone.”
She said they have already collected many items from people who have already knitted this year and that was before they even knew which organisations would be benefiting from it.
“Mandela Day is such a beautiful reminder to share our humanity and to help our neighbours, and this year’s ‘GeknitDit’ guests are going to be so much fun. I can just imagine what these guys and girls are going to get up to – I can’t wait! Make sure you catch every hilarious stitch on Facebook Live,” said Lange.

On Friday, July 15, reigning Miss South Africa Lalela Mswane represented Mzansi at the 13th Miss Supranational pageant in Strzelecki Park Amphitheatre in Nowy Sącz, Poland.
The 24-year-old stood out from the contestants from 69 countries and was crowned Miss Supranational 2022.
The judges were impressed by her national costume dress that pays tribute to her Zulu heritage.
It was designed by Cape Town-based Lloyd Kandlin, responsible for creating the costume worn by Miss South Africa 2019, Zozibini Tunzi, who went on to become Miss Universe that year.
Kandlin was inspired by the vibrant colours and designs of South African prints.
“The idea with the costume was to find a balance in the chaos of our everyday lives, which is why I’ve used a vibrant print but carefully balanced it in perfect symmetry.”

And for the crowning glory where Namibia’s Chanique Rabe handed over the reins, the KwaSokhulu beauty donned a gold dress designed by William de Beer, owner of Willetdesigns Couture.
Said Mswane after the pageant: “I am overwhelmed; at the moment, it still feels surreal. I am deeply thankful to all the amazing people who have supported and uplifted me, I couldn’t have done it without them.
“I want to thank the organisers of Miss Supranational, the Polish people, all my fellow contestants, the Miss South Africa Organisation and my South African fans. This title is not mine alone, it is South Africa’s victory.”
Mswane was crowned Miss Universe 2021 second runner-up in December last year. This August, she will be handing over her Miss SA crown to one lucky lady.
